Manuel García-Llera Añón

I started by designing brands and spaces. Today I research, prototype and build digital products.

What I do

I connect people's needs and business needs through journeys, roles and decisions that can be understood and used.

I research, structure and prototype in Figma. I work with Atomic Design so that tokens, components and states form a reusable system.

I bring decisions into the browser with Angular or Next.js and test what happens when real data, permissions, accessibility and performance come into play.

Digital structure becoming a working interface

I am interested in how materiality, perception and technology change our relationship with an interface and the way we make decisions.

I compare different AI tools and use MCP workflows to explore, automate and implement, while keeping direction and responsibility human.

A complementary practice. I design and visualise spaces through volume, materiality, light and scale; a physical perspective that also improves how I think about interfaces.

Approach

I design and build digital products so that complexity can be understood, used and discussed. I investigate what happens when interfaces — and the AI within them— take part in our decisions.

Learning to develop has helped me look more deeply at design. When I plan a screen, I also ask what data it needs, who can change it and what happens if something fails. Understanding those relationships helps me discuss solutions with engineers and check whether what I have designed actually works.

I work with different AI tools every day. For months, I have been testing how they respond, where they help and where they get things wrong. After a period working mainly with Claude, I now use Codex more often: in my projects, it is providing the stability and problem-solving ability I need. I still check its answers; choosing a tool does not mean I stop reviewing its results.

Research practice · HCI

Interaction systems for complex contexts.

I design the relationship between people, interfaces and AI, then turn it into a system that can be tested, explained and developed further.

Selected case studies

From problem to product, without losing the thread.

Each case shows what needed to be understood, the decisions I made and how they became a system that can be tested.
